Particularly for a diesel engine, the piston (1) has its gudgeon pin (6) fitted in two holes and coupled to a connecting rod. A trough (4) is formed above each gudgeon pin hole (5) in the upper inner walls of the piston inner space (7). The troughs are provided with ball radii (R1,R2), the central points of which are located in planes crossways to the gudgeon pin axis and one above the other in the piston stroke direction. The central points of the ball radii are also located in planes through the gudgeon pin axis lines forming an angle (alpha), which is produced approximately by the end positions of the pivot movement of the connecting rod.
