The open-end spinner has a bypass opening (33), for the suction air flow, directly after the deflection point (27) in the fiber feed channel from the fiber loosening roller to the spinning rotor. The bypass opening (33) is the entry opening into an exhaust air channel (34), aligned against the direction of movement (B) in the fiber feed channel (17). The fiber feed channel (17) has two part-channels (24,25). A separation joint (26) is at the deflection point (27), with the bypass opening (33). The outlet opening of the fiber feed channel (17) and the bypass opening (33) are connected to a common under pressure source. The bypass opening (33) is combined with an air feed opening to give a supporting suction air flow at the fiber loosening roller.
