摘要

A collision protection for a door lock in a vehicle has a spherical inertial mass (6) held in a cage (5) and located in a profiled hole in a plate (11) to which is attached a locking catch (10). When the inertial mass is displaced in any direction it pushes the plate and moves the locking catch into a recess (3) in the door lock operating linkage thereby blocking the door catch and preventing the door from opening. After the collision the inertial mass is pulled back into its rest position by a control bar (15) linked to the door handle mechanism.
