High temperature fuel cell has a nickel mesh (10) electrically connected to a chromium nitride coated interconnector plate (2). A high temperature fuel cell has a nickel mesh (10) between a solid electrolyte (12) and the fuel gas side of an interconnector plate (2), the latter having a chromium nitride layer (8) and being electrically connected to the nickel mesh (10). An Independent claim is also included for a stack of the above high temperature fuel cells. Preferred Features: The nickel mesh (10) is spot welded to the interconnector plate (2) through the chromium nitride layer (8) which is formed by PVD, CVD or gas nitriding.
