The meter (1) has a mechanism container (4) arranged above a measuring chamber (2), with a vane shaft (7) passing through its base (5), and is inserted in a casing (10) to leave an annular space (19). At least one connection channel (20) is provided between the annular space and a free space (21) above an upper bearing plate (11). At least one flow through channel (23) passes from the free space to the measuring chamber. The meter (1) has a mechanism container (4) arranged above a measuring chamber (2), with a vane shaft (7) passing through its base (5), and is inserted in a casing (10) to leave an annular space (19). An annular chamber (17) between the measuring chamber and the casing serves as an inflow area for an inlet channel (18). An upper bearing plate (11) extends between an end face (12) of the mechanism container and the casing. Abutments (16) extend between a lower bearing plate (12) and the upper bearing plate. At least one connection channel (20) is provided between the annular space and a free space (21) above the upper bearing plate. At least one flow through channel (23) passes from the free space to the measuring chamber.
