Miniature palladium-103 (Pd-103) radioactivity source comprises: a ceramic tube; radioactive Pd-103 homogeneously dispersed in the bulk of the tube; an X-ray marker located centrally in the lumen of the tube; and a sheath of biocompatible material surrounding the tube. An Independent claim is also included for the production of a miniature Pd-103 radioactivity source, comprising: preparing a homogeneous mass comprising metal oxide powder(s) and a plasticizer; adding a Pd-103 salt solution while stirring to obtain a homogeneous mixture; injection-molding the mixture to form a tube; subjecting the tube to heat treatment; introducing an X-ray marker centrally into the lumen of the tube, and sheathing the tube with a biocompatible material.
