Fire protection system for window/door openings in walls with a cold facade has profile rails to carry strips which foam through heat to expand and seal the ventilation zones of the back ventilation structure

The fire protection system, especially for cold facades with back ventilation where there are wall openings for windows or doors and the like, has strips (10) of a material which foams through heat to seal the ventilation zones (8). The profile rails (40,42), between the building wall (4) and the facade plates (6) have a U-shape in cross section, with their legs parallel to the facade plates (6) and the building wall (4) or the thermal insulation layer (14), with a gap matching the depth of the ventilation zone (8). The legs hold the inner strips (10) so that, on foaming, they expand towards each other. The foam strips (10) have an intumescence carrier bonded in a thermoplastic matrix. The hollow profiles (40) of the window/door structure are filled with a temp. reduction material in the event of a fire, and they carry connecting profiles and/or holders for fitting integrated roller blinds, systems to prevent forced entry and alarms.
