The invention relates to a method for marking a polygon-based binary data set of a three-dimensional model by specifically embedding information in said binary data set, which describes the model by means of a number of interconnected surface elements which are each defined by surface corner points. The invention is characterised in that the information is implemented into the binary data set by modifying the location of at least certain surface corner points.
