The free end of the solid wood support body is designed as a head part (3) of laminated wooden layers glued together and having at least two layers forming constituent parts of the support body. The head part can have an incision running across the longitudinal axis and starting from its end face (5) which defines the support post in the longitudinal direction. A filler is then inserted and glued into the incision.
