The magnetic levitation railway runs in evacuated tubes of steel that serve to carry trains. For a train en route from the starting station to the end station the rear carriage is decoupled and braked in response to a stored or transmitted signal so that it comes to rest in an intermediate station. Independent claims are also included for a conveyor belt for people, an acceleration belt, a braking belt, a hand rail moving with a conveyor and a conveyor belt of linked elements.
