The sliding bearing has an outer bearing shell (1), composed of two half-shells (2,3) which can be separated, and a sliding insert (7) within the shell especially as a sliding film of non-stick material. The two half-shells (2,3) are closed and coaxial rings, moved between a closed position against each other and an axially separated position. The half-shells overlap at their ends (17,18). The half-shells (2,3) are of a stable plastics material, or metal.
