The capacitor (SES) is directly connected to a d.c. voltage converter supplied by a generator (KSG) and regulated to deliver constant current or power to the capacitor. The generator is an electrical machine that operates as a starter/generator and is connected via a pulse inverter bridge (PWR) to the capacitor or capacitor intermediate memory and d.c. voltage converter and can be connected to the network (BN) via a switch (SCH) in generator mode.
