The cat toilet uses water soluble cat litter made of recycled paper and has a trough whose base opens into a waste pipe (5) at the rear that connects the trough via a pump and a flexible hose to the outflow tube beneath a washing basin or directly via the siphon to an outflow tube (15). Actuating a flap (14) allows water into the trough to flush the cat litter and faeces into the outflow and hence into the waste system.
