Wind vector evaluation method e.g. for flight path plotting, uses overlapping of 2 circles obtained from 2 actual velocity measurements so that corresponding ground speed vectors meet at common point
The wind vector evaluation method uses 2 successive sets of measurements for the ground speed (GS1,GS2) and the true air-speed (TAS1,TAS2), each obtained for a constant compass position, with calculation of each corresponding course using a global positioning system and an electronic calculator. Each actual velocity is used for describing a circle with the corresponding radius, with the circles overlapped so that the ends of the ground speed vectors coincide at a single point, the wind vector obtained by joining this point to the adjacent intersection point of the circles.
