The dishwasher has a door (1) pivotable about a horizontal axis for closing a washing container and that extends with its lower edge (4) close to a lower end of the machine when in the upright position. All gaps in the region of the lower edge of the door to the machine's standing surface (20) are closed over the entire width of the machine. At least one noise seal (10,10) extends over the width of the machine.
