An electrically controllable aperture comprises an electro-optical medium-filled cell with non-structured facing transparent electrodes electrically contacted along a peripheral sealing frame. An electrically controllable aperture comprises two transparent plates which are joined together by a peripheral sealing frame to form a cell filled with an electro-optical medium. The plates include transparent electrodes which have no structuring and are electrically contacted along the sealing frame. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) an electrically controllable camera aperture as described above; and (ii) image recording equipment comprising the above electrically controllable camera aperture. Preferred Features: The electro-optical medium comprises an electrochromic medium or liquid crystals.
