The device for laying natural stone paving slabs comprises a slab store on which the slabs (1) are arranged on a support (16). This is attached to a swivel axis (15). The slabs are held with the side which is to be seen downwards, and in the pattern in which they are to be laid, by a frame (26). A cover sheet (17) is moved over the slabs. The combination of support, frame and cover sheet is then pivoted so that the cover sheet is at the bottom and can be pressed into the foundations. An Independent claim is included for a process for laying paving slabs using the device.
