A crane, particularly with a pivotable beam, has a support column which has an outer surface contour like a straight prismatic body with a constant quadrilateral cross-section. Framework braces run in the outer surfaces. The braces run diagonally and connect two adjacent longitudinal supports. Each longitudinal support (5) has a tractive component, and in the longitudinal direction of each tractive component successive distance components (9) are arranged. The ends of the diagonal braces are arranged between two directly succeeding distance components. The distance components and the ends (7a) of the diagonal braces (7) are tensioned against one another by tension components (13) in the longitudinal direction of the tractive components (8) and at the ends of the tractive components.
