The loom heald is formed from strip material with at least two end eyelets (9) and a yarn eyelet. The side legs of each eyelet project beyond the width of the heald strip, and an additional pinch (7,7') is at least at one end of each end eyelet (9) in the heald strip. The additional pinch is pre. at both ends of the end eyelets. The end eyelets form an elongated and preferably rectangular opening, along the heald line, in the center of the heald strip. The additional pinch (7,7') has a triangular shape, with the side of the triangle towards the eyelet (9) at right angles to the line of the heald. The separating web (8,8') between the eyelet (9) and the additional pinch (7,7') has the same thickness as the heald strip or is slightly squeezed out against the normal heald thickness. The pinches (7,7') are imposed on the heald from only one side, or from both sides in a symmetrical pattern. An Independent claim is included for the prod. of the loom heald where a longitudinal pinch is imposed initially near the location of an end eyelet (9), preferably in the center of the strip to be used for the heald. The strip width is expanded at the end eyelet (9) zones, and the end eyelets (9) are stamped out. Preferred Features: An additional pinch (7,7') is imposed near the eyelets (9), to give three pinches at each eyelet, and the eyelets are stamped out at the center pinch. The pinches are formed by cold shaping.
