The cylinder head has two intake valves, located in planes parallel to the longitudinal engine direction, to regulate two separate swirl-generating intake channels. A first channel (5) passes through a long side wall (7) of the cylinder head (1). The second vertical channel (6) passes vertically through the timing case (2) next to a twist section (9) near the cylinder head base (8), centrally to the longitudinal engine plane (4), and parallel to a cylinder axis (10). The twist section is connected to the cylinder head base via a web (11). The vertical channel is connected to a central dome and extends between screws (13) of the cylinder head to a cover (15) separating a coolant chamber (14) from the timing case.
