Air conditioning system with heat pump detects time between successive heat demands, turns compressor off and prevents it from switching on again if time less than defined threshold

The system has a heat pump, whereby an air-coolant heat exchanger, which receives waste air from the rooms being air conditioned and/or ambient air, and a main heat exchanger for room heating and for heating a utility water storage device (26) in a heating circuit with a circulating pump and mixer valve, are connected in the pref. switchable coolant circuit for the heat pump. Control electronics (27) for the compressor (15), heat pump (13) and mixer valve (20) detects the time between two successive room heat demand signals and if it is less than a threshold value, prevents the compressor from switching on, at least until the threshold is exceeded. Whilst the compressor is off the heat demand is covered from the utility water storage device.
