The electroluminescent light element has a front electrode (1) of transparent material over a layer of luminescent material (3), at least one insulation layer (4) and a transparent or opaque back electrode (2). The area size of the element is adapted to suit particular applications. There is a carrier layer for the luminescent material. The electrode on top of the luminescent layer is individualized to a particular purpose, and is covered with transparent cast resin.
