Use of fractal semantic networks so that an existing knowledge network comprised of category units, instance units and Janus units can be queried for information, classification and or selection of semantic partial networks within the knowledge network. The knowledge network itself is a network of semantic units based on type, content, composition and or distance from other semantic units. For local classification or for local alteration of the networking together of a semantic unit, Janus functionality can be used.
