A weapon simulator for a combat vehicle, in particular a main battle tank, with a cradle body (1) which is pivotally mounted in the vehicle and which carries at its inner end a lock (2) modeled after a weapon lock and in which a guide frame (3) is inserted instead of a gun barrel. In the guide frame (3), a carriage (5) for transporting a practice bullet from the closure (2) into a delivery position outside the vehicle and back again can be moved. The breech (2) can be moved relative to the cradle body (1) into a position which simulates the return of the weapon barrel and is moved to the rear and again to the front. A first electric motor (6), which is arranged on the guide frame (3) and whose output shaft engages via a pinion (6.1) in a rack (7) which is fastened to the slide (5), serves as the drive device for the slide (5). Two spindle drives (8.1, 8.2) arranged on both sides of the cradle body (1) are used as the drive device for the closure (2), the spindle nuts of which are each connected to the closure (2) and the spindles are each connected via a second and third electric motor (9.1, 9.2) are driven.
