A process for isolating olefins from a gas mixture containing olefin(s), inert gas and catalyst poison involves separation into olefin and inert gas in a separator connected to an apparatus in which the poison is removed (i) from the mixture if this apparatus comes before the separator or (ii) from the separated olefin if the apparatus comes after the separator. An Independent claim is also included for a system for carrying out this process, comprising: (a) polymerization reactor; (b) discharge tank; (c) filter for removing fine polymer particles; (d) apparatus for removing catalyst poison; (e) separator for separating olefin from inert gas; and (f) gas compressor for recycling the isolated olefin to the fluidized bed reactor, plus connecting lines between these components.
