The invention relates to a device for fixing removable seats to the floor of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, in such a way that a forked foot (14) of the supporting leg (13) of the seat is slid sideways onto a fastening pin (10) which is fixed to the floor of the passenger compartment. According to the invention, a stopper (16) and a clamping slide (23) are integrated into the supporting leg (13) of the seat. The movements of said stopper and clamping slide are coupled using a movement reversing gear, in such a way that when the forked foot (14) is slid onto the fixing pin (10) located on the floor, the supporting leg (13) of the seat is braced against the floor of the passenger compartment or against a support (26) configured thereon in a play-free, rattle-free manner.
