The passenger detection and control system has a sensor (I) in the seat surface (IV) of each compartment seat, reacting to the person body weight. A magnetic card reading unit (II) is coupled at each seat, e.g. in the arm rest, for the ticket control. A magnetic card (III) is used as a ticket.
