The traverse (1) has a base body (4) made of welded aluminum sheet with box-section profile. In the region of the suspension support breakthrough (2), a local reinforcing element (3) is fixed to the base body to provide high torsional rigidity. The base body may be in two parts, in which case the breakthrough is only reinforced in one region.
