The machine element for moving a fluid under pressure or a vacuum comprises two components (1, 2) which can move relative to each other and have bores (4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11) for passage of fluid. A seal (3) has pairs of sealing lips, one pair of which is located in the first component (1) and seals this dynamically. The other is located in the second component (2) and seals it statically. A bore (6) extends through the seal between the sealing lips.
