The traveling service unit (2) has a counter (5,6) to register failures of similar types of service operations, the counter resetting to zero after every success. An alarm (41) is raised when the number of failures of a given type exceeds a set value. Independent claims are also included for a traveling service unit (2) containing a controller (4) with the required counter (5) for similar servicing attempts and an arrangement providing a servicing station (110) for the service unit. The servicing station (110) is outside the normal working area (200,201) and a mechanism is provided at the service station and/or several other locations to call the service unit (2) to the service station.
