Probe (1) is inserted into the flow of material in, for example, a silo (2). The probe has sloping measurement surfaces (5.1, 5.2) and can be cone or wedge shaped. It is hung freely in the silo or joined via an arm to the silo wall so that the depth of insertion into the silo can be altered. Values for determination of moisture or temperature are transmitted in a wireless manner.
