The method involves checking and monitoring psychological performance, especially after a long period of operation by conducting interactive communications between the driver and a test program that can be called up from a data medium using a phonetic system. Data are displayed, compared and evaluated over time. If minimum performance values are violated a warning signal can be generated or the vehicle taken out of operation.
