Transfer between the high frequency generator and antennas occurs through a waveguide, in which a low pressure gas discharge is produced, a static magnetic field produces helical waves in the waveguide structure, capable of propagation in a certain frequency range only in a polarizing direction. Antennas of appropriate geometry to match the field distribution and polarization are used to launch the signal, providing a constant impedance of 50 ohms to the generator.
