The double-armed brake levers (1) each comprise a brake arm (1') and a further arm (1'') connected together through angled ends (1 asterisk ) whilst the ends of the arms (1'') facing away from these angled ends are angled towards each other and are connected together by a plastics bending spring (2) which can be injection moulded or push-fitted on the brake lever. The plastics bending spring has a directional-dependent bending behaviour so that the free ends of the brake arms can move readily towards each other in the normal position but the free ends are fairly difficult to spread apart.
