Dimensional stabilization of glass or glass-ceramic comprises slow cooling in a specified temperature range after thermal treatment. Dimensional stabilization of glass sheets is carried out by thermally treating the glass or glass-ceramic at at least 50 deg C and then cooling at an average cooling rate of less than or equal to 10 K/minute in the range 250 deg C down to 50 deg C.
