Modular hoist for loads has the loads lifted by several hoist systems coupled to a servo motor via clutches and adjustable drive shafts

A modular hoist for controlled lifting of different shapes of loads has separate hoists (1) in modular blocks connected to a servo drive (2) via drive shafts (5) and clutches (6). By selecting the lengths of the drive shafts and the number and spacing of the hoists a safe lifting system is assembled for any shape of load. The hoist layout can be made two dimensional by including bevel gears in the drive train, to follow the centre of mass line of the load. The hoists can be via cable, rope, chain or plastic belt and the whole system is fitted with end switches (4) preset to the end positions of the load.
