The instrument (1) to dilate a narrowed opening at the skin, and especially for the treatment of phimosis, has at least one membrane (2) with at least two zones (5-7) of different material thicknesses. They are arranged alternately along the longitudinal line of the membrane (2). When empty, the membrane (2) has a longitudinal tube shape and/or the separate zones (5-7) are as ribbons round the membrane. A hose, with a valve and pump, is used to inflate the interior (3).
