The method involves detecting whether the head (101) has reached a defined boundary position using a first electrically conducting element on a control section of a boundary setting switch that is contacted by a conducting element on the head when in the boundary position. The second element is connected to an electrical section at a reference potential. The head is reversed if the potential of the first element equal to the reference potential.
