The method involves using a physical path model and taking account of a differential effect when designing for an improvement of the damping characteristic of the pendulum damping device in the path model. This ensures that the output signal of the pendulum damping device has a static null. The differential power and/or revolution rate effect is taken into account. The damping can be directly specified equally for all frequencies and with dynamic transfer functions for special frequency ranges using a weighting function.
