The welding sleeve of plastics, which can be welded, has a sleeve body (2) to take an inserted pipe (6). A heater, especially as a heating coil, is at the inner surface of the sleeve (2) to weld the end of the inserted pipe (6). The sleeve body (2) has at least one swing holder (8-11) on a pivot axis (12), to be moved against the outer surface of the pipe (6). The holder (8-11) can be mounted on hinges (20,22) at the sleeve body (2) and/or another holder. The holder (8-11) and the hinges (20,22) are in one piece with the sleeve body (2) and/or form an integral unit with it. The holder (8-11) extends over a set angular zone round the circumference of the sleeve body (2), in relation to its longitudinal axis, and/or passes round the sleeve body (2) by 180 deg . The holder can be a closed ring round the circumference and/or is a holder at each end of the sleeve and/or at least two holder rings axially adjacent to each other are at both ends of the sleeve body. Each ring holder, in the paired rings, has separate hinges, offset from each other by 180 deg round the circumference of the sleeve body (2). The holder hinges have a width and/or thickness which are smaller than the wall thickness of the sleeve body (2) and/or the holder, by a given factor.
