Normally the agricultural mower (1) is driven along the field with one of the two outer units (3,6) moving over a partially cut area (20), in order to avoid to leave stretches not touched by the blades (7) at all. The two rows of grass (18,19), which are positioned to both sides of the device (1) after cutting, are of a different shape and size, causing problems to the collecting machinery. If one of the two outer rotating units (3,6) is designed with a bigger diameter, it can cut a wider area of short stems and produce a quantity of grass similar to the one positioned by the normal sized unit.
