The air layer dowel anchor (1), to lock together two spaced brick walls with an air layer, has a tubular body with a flat anchor section (4) against the shaft section (2). The anchor section (4) is formed by a transit (7) at the shaft (2). The transit (7) has at least one beating surface (8,9) to drive the beating section (3) of the anchor (1) into the dowel (6) by a fitting tool (11). The tool (11) has an opening (14) to hold the anchor section (4), of larger dimensions than the section, with end striking surfaces (18,19) to act on the beating surfaces (8,9), and with a limit head.
