Autonomous unit removing suspended matter in primary section of waste water treatment plant

The unit comprises a series of concentric, steeply inclined, perforated and filter-clad cones through which water flows inwardly, whilst sludge falls away to the base of the chamber. The unit comprises an inlet (2) above the water level (3), a partition (4), an aqueous sludge guidance cowl (5), a sludge collection space (7) and a series of downwardly facing detachable casings (8) with detachable flanges. These are covered by plastic fabric (10) and have openings (13) for flow. The water continues to the central slotted pipe (14) outlet. The unit can be opened up to extract the sludge from the base. Preferred Features: Cross sections other than circular can be used. The unit is single- or multi-chamber. It forms part of a pre-sedimentation plant and includes a working platform. The Inlet and outlet have independent flushing connections. Anti-frost precautions are provided. In the cover, there is an inspection opening. A series of such units is used, or the plant takes the form of many chambers, partitioned honeycomb-like. There are side openings for each chamber of the unit.
