The seal comprises a primary sealing element (22) with integral fastening clip (26) with a shaped first end (28) interacting directly with and fixed on the outer circumference (40) of the primary element. The clip has an oblong body section (32) projecting down towards the first flange (24) and extending to a second end (30) having an integral locking tongue (34) running at an angle away from the oblong body. The second end fits into a slit (36) in the first flange of the pipe. Independent claim describes exhaust pipe assembly with seal between first and second flanges.
