A buffer manager apportions memory space into several buffers. Each buffer reserves several storage locations following each other, having a start and end address. To record data to a buffer, the buffer manager delivers a start address and a burst value to an address converter for converting the start address and the burst value to SDRAM storage address locations. The start and end addresses of each buffer are imaged on different transits in the SDRAM memory store.
