An input signal is received via a microphone (11) and/or a loudspeaker triggering an A/D microphone transmitter (15). Signals are then separated (17) by sub-band and picked up downstream before they are fed to an LMS filter (23) forming a combination in common with a forward filter (25). A computed zero delay echo is reconstructed (27) and subtracted from the input signal (29). Results go through a D/A converter to a loudspeaker.
