A hygroscopic insulant liquid is added to the mineral oil. Preferred Features: A hygroscopic additive replaces some oil in existing equipment. In new high voltage equipment, the solid insulation is first impregnated with an hygroscopic insulant, filling afterwards with mineral oil, improving drying and reducing delamination and gas inclusions.
