The developing system has developing rollers (1,2) that rotationally feed developing substances (4a,4b) to an image medium (101) that rotates on a predefined track with a latent image. Each developing roller contains stationary magnetic energy sources (20a,20b). At least one pair of magnetic energy sources has opposing north and south poles (N1,S1,..) forming a polarity inversion point (E1,E2) on the roller surface. The inversion points are placed opposite each other on the roller surfaces. A dividing plate (3) regulates the quantity of developing substance near the inversion point. A specific roller, inversion point and plate geometry is set up.
