The toothed rack has a first(1) and a second(2) section which are movable in relation to each other in a guide in the direction of the longitudinal axis. The two sections of the rack are guided around the longitudinal axis with no twisting. A coupling element(3-6) allows a free movability of the toothed rack sections in it disconnected state while in the engaged state the rack sections are friction locked or form locked in relation to each other in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
