Data is accessed and transmitted between a CPU (110) and a memory (130) using a control unit (220) that has a CPU control module and a memory control module. The CPU request for data involves addresses sent to the controller to locate the area of memory. When the data is located within a different page of memory an additional data request signal (DADS) is also transmitted.
